After Botox

Botox is a procedure that is designed to inject fluid in to certain areas that you would like to get rid of the wrinkles. Most patients say that you don’t feel very much during the time when you are getting the Botox taken care of. The part that you need to know about is what is going to happen after you are at home taking care of all the Botox injections you got.

Immediately after getting the Botox, you might begin to see some small red dots or bruising. Be aware that this is normal. These side affects will usually fade a few hours after the injection has happened. Once you have gotten the injections, it is a good idea not to lie down within four or five hours afterwards. You want to give the Botox plenty of time to take affect. If you are nervous about the swelling, doctors suggest that you put a cold compress on it in order to relieve some of that dreadful swelling. If you are in a rush to get on with the rest of your day, you could always apply a small amount of make up to cover any of the swelling or red dots that might pop up right after you have the injection.

After the first day, you should begin doing the exercises that your doctor assigned for you to do. You should also wait about 24 hours before doing any very strenuous activities. There is also a daily care that you should further discuss with your doctor before leaving your Botox treatment.
